Live Aboard Record
The idea of breaking free of our daily grind for an extended period, what a soothing thought. And how better could you escape than to set off in your PDRacer. We already have a record for pushing the distance you can go in your PD, it is the "voyage" record -- but this record is about just being in your PD for the longest time, and not nescessarily going anywhere. Is it possible to live in a PDRacer? Sure it is -- in an early issue of Small Craft Advisor, there was an article about a guy who was living aboard a Potter 15 for 3 years, and if you look at Dave and Mindy Bolduc's Famous Small Boats page, you can see many long voyages that were completed in boats smaller than a PD, and they were completed without resupply!
Live Aboard Rules:
1 - Hull must be setup in class legal shape configuration, but does not need to be sailed, can have any propulsion (if any).
2 - Must be in your boat for 83% of every 24 hours, of the total record time. (Basically can be out of the boat for 4 hours a day)
3 - The boat must be free floating on water for the 83% of the time you are aboard (OK to be tied to dock etc)
4 - No restriction on resupply, no requirement for any distance to be travelled
5 - Minimum record time is 48 hours.
This record is reset at the end of each calendar year.
