Modular PDR “Pippon” Completed

I constructed a modular PDRace from the free plans which worked out well. Completed the build, finishing, and fitting out on 10/30/24. Named her “Pippon.” The boat uses a modified Walker Bay mast, boom and sail. See Picture 1.

Bought and assembled a folding trailer and added removable bunks. See Picture 2.

The project allows us to store the PDR and trailer inside the garage on a wall and still park our 2 cars in the garage. See Picture 3.

At 6’2” 220lbs, the modular PDracer cockpit fits me great and is comfortable to sail inside the boat. At 10 knots, I sit on the stern bulkhead. The construction was simple to follow but requires precision measurements and cuts. See Picture 4.

Expect to trim boards to assemble. See Picture 5.

The 12’ mast required a strong mast support. See Picture 6.

Overall the first sail was excellent on our local Virginia lake. See Picture 7.

Thank you for a nice sailboat which I enjoyed building.
Tom
