Trying a Quick Rudder From Scraps

My son and I were out trying our new rudder. (See attached pictures) We had a lot of fun, even if it doesn't look like it. He was really tired by then. The rudder was made of some scrap I had laying around. Having a hole in the tiller that will seat on the pivot bolt made an otherwise rickety rig REALLY stable. It removed all of the funny torque from the rudder blade. It also holds the blade up/down and was super easy to make. It is also VERY light (<5 lbs). I can't wait to give it a real test once my lee board and sail are complete. I'll send you a complete write up if it works out.

Thanks, Eric
